Concrete Formwork

We specialise in all types of formwork, from traditional timber formwork built on-site, to engineered and pre-fabricated formwork. Our formwork services include; retaining wall formwork, foundation formwork, ring beam formwork, traditional slab formwork and cassette formwork.

Concrete floors

We construct all types of Concrete Floors including bull float, pan and power float finishes. All floors can be laid with or without steel reinforcement or structural fibres. Our services include; bull float finish – provides a slightly rough finish, (ideal for cattle sheds), pan finish – provides a textured finish that produces a strong grip proof finish, power float finish – gives a smooth and shiny finish which is easily brushed (ideal for warehouses, grain sheds).

Concrete walls

We erect pre-cast and cast in-situ concrete walls. Our services include; erection of precast and cast in-situ concrete walls, retaining walls, swimming pool walls, water tanks, silage pit construction, grain store walls.

Concrete foundations

We create all types of concrete foundations. Our services include; strip foundation, column base foundation with bolts set for steel, Ring Beam Foundations, Raft Foundation and Underpinning.

Steel fixing

We specialise in Precast and In-situ Reinforcement. Our Steel Fixing services include; mesh fabric to concrete slabs, ring beams, columns, decks, staircases, car parks, retaining walls and foundations.

Power Floated Concrete

Power floated concrete results in a hard wearing finished surface, suitable for high trafficked areas both foot and fork lift dependent on depth. Power float machines are fitted with circular pans to help smooth the concrete before metal blades are rotated over the surface adjusting the tilt to achieve a hardened surface.

Hand Trowelled Concrete

Hand trowelled concrete can be laid in small areas where a power float would not be able to gain access. The screed / concrete is either mixed on site or pre mixed from our suppliers, the mix is placed and screeded off to gain the required level. The surface is allowed to stiffen, then a steel trowel passed over the surface to close the matrix.

Brushed Finish Concrete

Brushed Finish Concrete is typically used as a wearing surface on external yards producing high slip resistance and allowing the water to drain to the falls created. A brushed finish is obtained by pulling a brush over the surface of the fresh concrete, after the surface has been levelled and allowed to harden slightly. The type of finish obtained will depend upon the coarseness of the brush bristles.

Tamped Concrete

is a none slip really course finish, suitable for maximum grip for traffic A tamped finish is produced by raising and lowering a beam to compact the surface of the concrete creating a rough surface.

Surface Hardening

Surface hardeners for industrial concrete floor requiring additional abrasion resistance. Dry shake is placed on the top layer of the already placed concrete this is then power floated into the top layer of the existing concrete. This is then power floated to the polished finish often required in warehouse or distribution centers.

CONCRETE REINFORCING

Concrete Reinforcing is the process of tieing steel reinforcing bars to the required spacing and dimensions, encasing it in formwork moulds and pouring concrete to the required level allowing it to harden.

Waterproofing solutions can be applied to the formwork and concrete prior to installation.

CONCRETE PUMPING

At Ground Specialists Ltd we take pride in utilizing modern technology to provide quality concrete pumping services.

Mobile Pumps with Boom sizes from 20 meters to 52 meters or Static pumps, whatever the demand requires.
All concrete pump operators are fully CITB registered and are trained and tested to the highest levels.
We have a back up of management staff with years of experience within the concrete pumping industry and are available to provide advice to our customers, taking into consideration Safety, efficiency and a quality service

POWER FLOATING

Power floated concrete results in a hard wearing finished surface, suitable for high trafficked areas both foot and fork lift dependent on depth. Power float machines are fitted with circular pans to help smooth the concrete before metal blades are rotated over the surface adjusting the tilt to achieve a hardened surface.

STEEL FIXING

Steel fixing is a role that requires the positioning and securing of steel reinforced bars and /or mesh that is used in every type of reinforced concrete structure.

We offer steel fixing services of the highest standard in in-situ work (slabs, bases, pile caps, ground beams, columns, walls) and prefabricated sections.
